Folk modern: how ancient motifs become hits
AY YOLA blends the sounds of kuray, kubiz, and dombra with synthesizers and guitar rifles, creating a unique style. Their success is reminiscent of the story of the Tatar duo "Aigel," whose track "Pyala" topped the Shazam world charts a year ago.
"Thank you to everyone who listens and shares our music. You help revive ancient legends in the modern world," the musicians write.
While the "Homay" music video continues to gain viewership, fans are waiting for new releases - perhaps AY YOLA awaits the same global success as its Tatar counterparts.
Turkic languages
After gaining popularity on social media, the group translated popular excerpts from the song into all Turkic languages, including Uzbek. The release of the video itself is expected on April 4.
