As noted, the list includes: 5 elm trees over 100 years old growing in the Chimboy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; a 200-year-old mulberry tree in the city of Jizzakh, Jizzakh region; a 250−300-year-old mulberry tree in the city of Kattaqo'rg'on, Samarkand region; a 450-year-old plane tree in Narpay district and a 1000-year-old plane tree in Payariq district.
Previously, the list included 8 tree species located in various districts of Jizzakh, Samarkand, Tashkent, Surkhandarya, and Kashkadarya regions. With the addition of new trees, Uzbekistan became the first Central Asian country and the third CIS country (after Russia and Azerbaijan) to include its natural heritage sites in this international registry.
