Previously, publications about Moscow, Almaty, and Leningrad were published as part of the project.
The authors of the Tashkent edition were researchers Boris Chuhovich and Olga Kazakova, photographer Olga Alekseenko, and architectural historian Ayrat Bagautdinov. During the presentation, they will discuss how modernist ideas are combined in the city with local traditions - vernacular forms and ornaments, and explain why, along with texts about buildings, chapters about the metro and mosaic art were included in the book.
Special attention will be paid to the architectural differences between the decades, the competition between Tashkent and Almaty in urban planning, and other aspects of the architectural history of the Uzbek capital in the second half of the 20th century.
Presentation guests will also be able to see special photographs prepared for the book, but not included in the final version.
