The document was signed by the Foundation's chairperson, Gayane Umerova, and the director of a British school, Dr. Khaled Azzam, the Foundation's press service reports.
The agreement provides for the establishment of a School of Traditional Arts and Crafts in Tashkent, whose mission will be the preservation, revival, and popularization of Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.
As noted, the academic program will begin its work this autumn. The educational process will focus on studying, practicing, and developing traditional Uzbek arts as a living and constantly evolving cultural phenomenon.
The King's Foundation Traditional Art School was founded in 2005 in London at the initiative of King Charles III. She teaches in the field of decorative and applied arts, paying special attention to the "living traditions" of sacred and folk art through practice, research, and philosophical contemplation.
