The next film about Agent 007 will be directed by Canadian Denis Vilnev, known for films such as "The Blade Runner 2049", "The Arrival", and the "Dune" dilogy.
Amy Pascal, David Heiman, and Vilnev's wife Tanya Lapuant will be the producers of the new project. Mike Hopkins, head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, noted that the franchise is in reliable hands: "James Bond is in the hands of one of the greatest directors of our time, and we are eager to start the next adventure of Agent 007".
Vilnev himself admitted that he grew up watching Bond films and called the opportunity to work on the new part a "great honor and responsibility".
The name of the actor who will play Bond has not yet been revealed, as has the film's release date. However, it is known that Daniel Craig, who played the role of an agent in the last five films, including "It's Not Time to Die" (2021), will not return to the 007 role.
Amazon acquired franchise rights in 2022 after purchasing MGM Studios, but the company was able to gain full control of the project only in February 2025, paying producers Michael J. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli an additional $1 billion.
Fans are eagerly awaiting news about the casting and the plot. The new stage in James Bond's story promises to be truly grand.
