According to the ranking by The Art Newspaper, compiled in 2025, Erik Bulatov topped the list of the most expensive currently living Russian artists. Previously, the first place was held by Ilya Kabakov, but after his death in 2023, the leadership passed to Bulatov.
The work "Glory to the CPSU" (1975) was sold in February 2008 by the auction house Phillips in London for $2,159,673 — this is still a record amount for the artist
According to Forbes, the total sales volume of Bulatov's works at auctions amounts to about $2.7 million, with his work being recorded at 41 auctions.

Eric Bulatov is a key figure of Moscow conceptualism and "Sots Art". The artist himself calls his style "a new type of painting". He is famous for his graphic inscriptions and slogans. Among his well-known works are: "Stop", "Glory to the CPSU", "Entrance - No Entrance", "Freedom - Freedom".
Bulatov is 91 years old, he continues his career. Since the late 1980s, the artist has been living in France. His works are exhibited in the largest museums in the world, among them the Pompidou Center and the Tretyakov Gallery.
