From November 23 to December 12, 2025, the final stage of the traveling exhibition NeUyat 2025—a major art project exploring the themes of violence, silence, and the path to inner healing—will take place at Bonum Factum Gallery.
The festival began on October 17 and, for the first time, brought together three cities at once: Samarkand, Fergana, and Tashkent. NeUyat 2025 is a single exhibition that moves between venues in different cities.
Each of the three presentations is part of a unified artistic statement intended to be accessible to the widest possible audience.
The festival is held with the support of the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, and admission to the exhibition remains free.
Age restriction: 18+, all works are presented in Uzbek and Russian languages.
Art as a Language of Recognition and Resistance
At the heart of the NeUyat concept is an attempt to open a public conversation about violence, which, despite its prevalence, often remains hidden behind silence, shame, and fear.
According to curators Nigina Khudaibergenova, Yana Kharasho, and Rosina Angalysheva, the exhibition becomes a space where personal trauma turns into collective experience, and art becomes a language of recognition and resistance.
The artists address the themes of the body, voice, memory, and mutual support. Through painting, video art, sculpture, digital installations, and performance, they speak about the destructive power of violence and about how women, despite the pain they have experienced, find ways to restore their connection with themselves and others.
Project Creation
The exhibition was formed based on the summer open call project Nemolchi.uz, which featured young female artists from all over Uzbekistan. For many of them, this was their first public engagement with the themes of female vulnerability, trauma, and attempts at healing.
The exhibition features works by Lili Altaeva, Negina Alieva, Alyona Yusupova, Sitora Brezhneva, Vetlina Burmistrova, Dinara Babaeva, Marzhona Zokhidova, Bernara Rustam, Mary Shoniya, Mariam Gadzhimuradova, and Olya Mazhenko — each telling their own story of overcoming and searching for their voice.
NeUyat Mission
NeUyat is not just an artistic project, but a socio-cultural initiative that creates a space where conversations about violence become possible. The festival aims to foster a culture of solidarity in which every woman who has experienced violence can be heard and supported.
