The main new features are an expanded arsenal and more "heavy" combat scenarios. The trailer showcased a two-handed sword and a blunderbuss, as well as a new enemy type — the "Grenadier" — which is clearly designed to disrupt familiar tactics and force players to move and reposition more often. Alongside this, the developers showed an updated map and a refined interface — it seems the game is continuing to be streamlined towards a more comprehensible and convenient form for a survival experience.
Meanwhile, Windrose is a project with noticeable evolution: after its announcement in August 2025, the team managed to conduct the first open playtest and then, according to them, essentially rethink the development direction. The initial concept of a free-to-play MMO with PvP gave way to a paid survival game, where the emphasis is on PvE co-op and offline adventures, meaning a more "intimate" format without a constant arms race between players.
Despite the change in direction and inevitable difficulties, Windrose Crew states that they intend to bring the game to release. In their address to the audience, the developers thanked the players for their support and wished everyone "fair winds" in 2026.
