“Aita” — film screening and discussion

A film by one of the most prominent directors of the "Yakut New Wave" — Stepan Burnashev. The crime plot becomes part of a hard-hitting statement about violence, fear, and collective responsibility. This is one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Yakut cinema: with a budget of about 4 million rubles, the film grossed over 26 million.
Plot: Aita dies after a party and leaves a note. A police officer falls under suspicion. Rumors escalate into vigilante justice, while the investigator tries to uncover the truth in time. Before the screening — an introduction by the program curator Vladimir Kocharyan.

Book presentation "Hello, Tashkent!" and meeting with the author Yulia Drobova

How do artists see their cities? Is it possible to draw heat, the noise of a bazaar, and the smell of bread? Yulia Drobova — author and illustrator of the book,  will share how a book is born: from the first sketches inspired by the city of her childhood to a cohesive storyline of a journey through Tashkent. There will be a discussion about hand lettering, visual language, memory, and the urban environment, and afterwards — book signing.
Art Brunch "How to View Masterpieces of Painting. Post-Impressionism"

Performance "Free Romance"

A modern interpretation of "Eugene Onegin": here the characters are young people of the 21st century, the music ranges from contemporary composers of Tashkent to Ryuichi Sakamoto. It's about love, choices, growing up, and time; with the inclusion of "Count Nulin," "The Gabrieliad," and "Little Tragedies." 3 hours, intermission, 14+. The performance was staged in 1999 and still plays to sold-out audiences.
