Tamara Khanum  —  a legendary dancer, singer and actress, whose work has become a vital part of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and has brought Uzbek culture fame far beyond the country’s borders. The evening dedicated to her legacy featured dance and vocal performances from her repertoire, presented by leading ensembles and soloists.
In the theatre foyer, an exhibition highlighted the life and work of the artist. Tamara Khanum was a reformer of the Uzbek women’s dance style, studied the song and dance folklore of peoples around the world, and created the genre of song-and-dance miniatures. Her repertoire included over 500 songs in 86 languages, as well as choreographic compositions and dances representing numerous cultures   worldwide.
The concert featured performances by the creative team of the Alisher Navoi Bolshoi Theatre, the National Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan, the dance ensembles Shodlik and Bahor, the Russian State Academic Choreographic Ensemble Beryozka, masters of the arts from Tajikistan, and others.
