Zukhra Zainutdinova has been appointed curator of the biennale. The theme of the exhibition was chosen to reflect the current era of transformation. As the organizers explained, "the event horizon" is a metaphor for a civilizational turning point, a moment when traditional forms of thinking and creativity undergo transformation. For contemporary art, it represents the point of no return to the former world.
The Biennale invites artists to work in two directions: modern art (painting, graphics, sculpture) and contemporary art (installations, video and photo art, conceptual art). The program also includes the international scientific and practical conference "Event Horizon: Waiting for the Oasis," exhibitions, lectures, master classes, and a tour of cities in Uzbekistan.
The organizers emphasize the relevance of the topic in the context of technological development. According to them, today the artist is no longer the sole creator of form — algorithms trained on archives of human culture generate new images, texts, and sounds, giving rise to a new figure of the author as a hybrid of human and machine.
All expenses for foreign participants related to accommodation, meals, and domestic transfers in Tashkent are covered by the Uzbek side, excluding airfare. Applications are accepted via a Google form.
