Uzbekistan will launch a rebate program for foreign film producers

The program covers feature films, television and web series, as well as documentary and educational projects. Payment management will be handled by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan through a dedicated platform, Film in Uzbekistan, which will be launched by November 1, 2026.

To participate, a foreign company must register its project on the platform and sign a contract with a local film production enterprise. Within 60 days after filming is completed, it must submit expense documents. Only purchases of goods and services from tax residents of Uzbekistan will be taken into account.

The amount of compensation depends on the volume of expenses: from 10% for lower costs to 25% for expenses exceeding 10 billion soums. By October 1, it is planned to prepare a catalog of available filming locations and props.

The program has been allocated 5 billion soums for 2026, and starting from 2027, funding will be incorporated into the state budget of Uzbekistan.
