Kyrgyzstan to Issue Anniversary Stamps for First Museum's Centennial
On August 11, a presentation of a series of commemorative postage stamps will be held at the M. V. Frunze Memorial House-Museum, marking the 100th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's first museum. The ceremony is organized jointly with the state enterprise Kyrgyz Pochtasy, according to Kultura (AKIpress).
The stamps will feature pages from the museum's history, a portrait of Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze, the institution's historic building, and artistic images connected to the period of Kyrgyz statehood formation. The stamps will carry collectible and souvenir value.
The project is being implemented as part of cooperation between the museum and the postal operator to promote the country's historical and cultural heritage. The commemorative stamps will be available for purchase at the Frunze Memorial House-Museum itself.
This year marks 100 years since the founding of the Kyrgyzstan capital on the site of the Pishpek settlement (established in 1878). From 1926 to 1991, the city bore the name Frunze, and after the country gained independence, the original name was restored.
