As part of working visits and official events in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan's Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov traditionally pays attention to both existing cultural institutions and objects and heritage monuments under construction. The minister personally inspected the progress of construction of the new building of the branch of the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. Next in line is a visit to regional children's schools of music and art to assess learning conditions. The Palace of Youth in Nukus is a key venue for the minister's large-scale meetings with young cultural and artistic figures of Karakalpakstan.

Among the historical and cultural sites that are subject to study is the "Ok Kush" Complex (White Bird) in Nukus, which is used for preparing major ethnocultural events (including the international festival "Nomadic Peoples"). In addition, the ministry conducts ongoing monitoring of ancient settlements, fortresses, and shrines of Karakalpakstan (such as the Sultan Uvais complex, the Ayaz-kala, Toprak-kala fortresses, and the Mizdakhkan necropolis) for their further restoration and promotion to the UNESCO World Heritage List
