The exhibition is divided into several sectors, each with its own curatorial focus. Within the Encounters section, dedicated to large-scale installations, sculpture and performance, a collective led by Mami Kataoka is presented for the first time. The display features twelve works united by the concept of the five elements as interpreted across Asian cultures.
A brand-new sector, Echoes, presents works created over the past five years through tightly curated displays featuring up to three artists. Among the highlights is Max Estrella’s presentation, which includes Tiffany Chung’s embroidered maps of spice routes and Miller Lagos’s sculptures carved from books.
Another global initiative by Art Basel, Zero 10, is dedicated to art of the digital age and makes its Asian debut at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026, following its launch at Art Basel Miami Beach.
Beyond the exhibition halls, the fair increasingly takes on the character of a city-wide festival. Its public programme, ranging from film screenings to performances and discussions, unfolds across multiple venues throughout Hong Kong.
