Juraeva devoted more than half a century to the theatre, working as an actress, director, and teacher. Her voice was unmistakable, deep and expressive. Among her most notable roles were the Queen in Hamlet, Katerina in The Storm, and Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard.
In recent years, she served as Director of the Alisher Navoi Theatre and later as an adviser on artistic matters. In 2015, she was awarded the title of Honoured Artist. Yet her greatest title was her name itself, spoken as a symbol of Uzbek theatre.
The editorial team of HD Magazine extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of Oysha Juraeva.
