In Yuzma-Yuz, we capture the subjective reality of our heroes through their photographs, notes, and memories. A crucial part of the project is video walks, during which we film places that matter to the hero and get answers to intimate questions. We show how the city influences the creative work of our invited guests.
The hero of the first episode of Yuzma-Yuz is blogger and NmaGap podcast host Sardor Salyamov. Much of his life is connected specifically to Tashkent. School, university, favorite café, his own studio, and native mahalla – the places that shaped Sardor.
Walking through the places important to Sardor, we talked about his first steps in production, the key to success, creating a theatrical show, recognition in Central Asia, accepting failures, and support from colleagues.
Learn more about Sardor's creative journey and how one's hometown shapes identity.
