From 23 November to 12 December 2025, the final stage of the touring exhibition will take place at Bonum Factum Gallery. This large-scale artistic project engages with violence, silence and the paths towards inner healing.
Launched on 17 October, the festival has, for the first time, brought together three cities, Samarkand, Fergana and Tashkent. NeUyat 2025 unfolds as a single, evolving exhibition that moves between venues across the country.
Each of its three presentations forms part of a unified artistic statement, intended to reach as wide an audience as possible. The festival is supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, and admission to the exhibition is free.
Age restriction: 18+. All works are presented in Uzbek and Russian.

Art as a Language of Acknowledgement and Resistance

At the heart of NeUyat lies an attempt to open up a public conversation about violence, a phenomenon that, despite its prevalence, often remains concealed by silence, shame and fear.
According to curators Nigina Khudaybergenova, Yana Kharasho and Rosina Angalysheva, the exhibition creates a space where personal trauma becomes a shared experience, and where art functions as a language of acknowledgement and resistance.
The artists adress themes of the body, voice, memory and mutual support. Through painting, video art, sculpture, digital installations and performance, they speak of the destructive force of violence while also exploring how women, despite lived trauma, find ways to reconnect with themselves and with others.

The Making of the Project

The exhibition is based on a summer open call organised by the Nemolchi.uz project, which brought together emerging women artists from across Uzbekistan. For many, this marked their first public engagement with themes of vulnerability, trauma and healing.
The exhibition features works by Lili Altaeva, Negina Alieva, Alena Yusupova, Sitora Brejneva, Vetlina Burmistrova, Dinara Babaeva, Marjona Zokhidova, Bernara Rustam, Mery Shonia, Mariam Gadjimuradova and Olya Majenko, each presenting a personal narrative of resilience and the search for one’s voice.

The Mission of NeUyat

NeUyat is not simply an artistic project but a socio-cultural initiative that creates a space where conversations about violence become possible. The festival seeks to foster a culture of solidarity in which every woman who has experienced violence can be heard and supported.
